Suburban Retreat Design

This sleek suburban retreat offers an attractive relaxation area as well as a vibrant space for entertaining up to 20 people. An artful mix of hard and soft landscaping elements produces striking focal points and stunning vistas from the house. The centerpiece of the design is a contemporary circular stone-clad fire table hugged by a curved stone bench. Attractive screening is cleverly provided by a grooved, vertical slate water wall, which also acts as a major focal point. The surrounding natural planting was complemented by an artificial green wall, which created a lush, green environment for the space. The front garden has a more traditional look, with brickwork raised beds and pillars and a resin-bound driveway. The hard landscaping elements are softened by structural, low-maintenance evergreen planting.
