This vibrant contemporary formal garden in St. John’s Wood was designed by well-known garden designer Phil Frank, from Henley-Upon-Thames. Frank chose the Garden Builders to construct this stylish garden for an international client who wanted an elegant complement to their impressive property while exuding a relaxing, family-friendly vibe. The Garden Builders specially sources approximately 80 tons of slate from a slate quarry in Wales for the garden’s main terrace and walling.

FORMAL GARDEN LAWN DESIGN CONTRACTOR ST. JOHN’S WOOD
Smart bespoke slatted trellis panels afforded privacy on either side of the terrace, which leads down to the main lawn. The terrace was accentuated with crisp topiary planting. The large, formal lawn is slightly elevated from the surrounding fixed gravel resin paths. The rear space features a children’s play area surrounded by informal curving pathways, combined with neat decking and bordered by lush, mixed planting. A focal point is the sunken circular area with the tree surrounded by gravel and steps made from the same slate used for the terrace. The project also entailed the installation of a fully automated irrigation system and state of the art exterior lighting.
