Hampstead Garden Designer

A renovated home in a beautiful, historic building in the centre of Hampstead needed an up to date, romantic garden for leisure, entertainment and space for grandchildren to enjoy.

The garden surrounds the house to create interesting, different spaces, each with a different aspect and character, but united as a whole. The linear geometry was twisted by 45 degrees to maximise space and draw the eye to the longest axes. Weighty, reclaimed York stone from the Old Bailey is combined with dark granite setts to perfectly anchor the house with the garden and the garden with its environs. The sloping west garden design catches the evening sun and combines textural Acers, pink Cornus, ferns and semi shade planting for an ever changing planting in pink, green, lilac and lime. A modern Buxus parterre in the south garden is enhanced with pretty, pink, white and blue seasonal planting based on roses. The 'secret' east garden offers a spot to enjoy a morning coffee in the sun and the north garden has been excavated to provide access from the lower ground floor. New hedging and walls wrap the whole garden. Read more about Hampstead garden designers
