award winning garden

SeeAbility, sponsored by Coutts, is a beautifully conceived garden that maximises the enjoyment of those with limited vision and offers sighted people a thoughtful perspective on various sight conditions. Working on the theme of sight loss, the garden features three interwoven circles of various materials and handmade opaque glass screens, with straight paths leading to the circles. The lush planting throughout the garden features contrasting colours and silhouettes, creating focal points for viewers. A large Sorbus tree at the center of the garden is surrounded by an installation of stainless steel balls and cascading water. The space is also meant to be a sensory garden, stimulating the other senses.
